Mrs. Amanda Varnadore
Guidance Counselor
This is year 20 in public education for me! I have been a guidance counselor at Fort Payne High School for seven years. Although our guidance department works with all students for scheduling and counseling needs, I work closely with seniors as they prepare for their futures. I previously taught language arts grades 9–12 at FPHS, served as a counselor at Albertville City Schools, and taught at Boaz and Opelika middle schools. I earned my Bachelor of Science from Auburn University and my Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama.

Guidance & Counseling
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Fort Payne High School! I am honored to serve as your high school counselor. This is my 25th year with Fort Payne City Schools, and I have served as a teacher, reading interventionist, and elementary counselor. My goal is to help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while feeling supported and respected.
