ENGLISH 11 (200013) – One Semester
Prerequisite: English 10

Course Description

This course provides a survey of American Literature from the post–Civil War era to the present. Emphasis is placed on developing reading comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speaking skills. This class is designed for students working at or below grade level.

Credit: 1 CREDIT
AP ENGLISH LANGUAGE & COMPOSITION 11 (200014) – One Semester
Prerequisite: Minimum B average in English 10 or Honors English 10 recommended. Summer reading contract and assignment required.

Course Description

This advanced course offers an in-depth survey and critical analysis of American Literature from the post–Civil War era to the present. Students develop advanced writing and analytical skills while completing extensive outside reading and rigorous assignments. Grades are weighted due to the high level of academic expectations. Summer reading and projects are required, and all work is due at the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to take the AP Exam in May.
