About the Band Program

The Fort Payne Band program consists of two middle school concert bands, a middle school jazz band, two high school concert bands, a jazz band, a percussion ensemble, and the Marching Wildcats.

Though the Marching Wildcats are well known, the concert ensembles are the main focus within the Wildcat Band program. Each high school student is placed in one of two concert bands that meet daily throughout the school year.

Students can participate in jazz band, small ensembles, pep band, percussion ensemble, and individual studies. The band program consistently places students in District II Honor Band, All-State, and DeKalb County Honor Band, with superior ratings at State MPA.

The Marching Wildcats

The Marching Wildcats is a co-curricular ensemble of all high school concert band students, with colorguard and danceline participating voluntarily.

The band performs at football games, parades, competitions, and festivals, consistently earning superior ratings and top placements.
